Every life is valuable as an image bearer of God. (Genesis 1:26-27)
Every life is valuable including those who are…
…living in their mother’s womb. (Jeremiah 1:5)
…weak and needy.(Psalm 82:3-4)
…from every race and nation.(Colossians 3:11)
…young and old.(1 Timothy 5:1-2)
How can I live-out my value of human life?

- Read Genesis 1:26-28. Who created human beings, and what sets them apart from the rest of creation? What are God’s instructions to human beings in verse 28? How do these instructions apply to us? How are you following these instructions in your life? What do you learn about God’s perspective on the value of life from these verses?
- Read Jeremiah 1:5. While the words from God here are specifically referring to Jeremiah, what can you learn about God’s perspective on life in the womb before birth? When do you think life begins based on this verse? Why is this important, and how does it shape your opinion about abortion?
- Read Psalm 82:3. What do you learn about God’s perspective about the value of life in this verse? Who does God value?
- Read Colossians 3:11. What do you learn about God’s perspective about the value of life in this verse? Who does God value?
- Read 1 Timothy 5:1-2. What do you learn about God’s perspective about the value of life in these verses? Who does God value?
- So what? How would you summarize God’s perspective on human life in general? Do you truly share God’s value of life regardless of a person’s circumstances, race, age or status? Is there any group of people that are difficult for you to value and appreciate? Why? How is God speaking to you in these verses regarding how you value life?
