I want to remind you about the Gospel because...
SERMON NOTES:

1 Corinthians 15:1-11

I want to remind you about the Gospel because...

The Gospel transforms lives. (1b-2, 9-11)

The Gospel focuses on Jesus. (3-4)

The Gospel really happened. (5-8)

study questions:

1. Read verses 1-2. What did Paul want to remind the Corinthians about? Why is it important for the Corinthians and for us to be reminded about this? Read Romans 1:16-17. What should our attitude be toward the Gospel? What keeps us from having this attitude toward the Gospel?

2. Read verses 3-4. According to theses verses, how would you define the Gospel? How did Paul describe the importance of the Gospel? Do you think the Gospel is as important to you as it was to Paul? Why or why not?

3. Read verses 5-8. How many people saw Jesus alive after the resurrection? Why do you think Paul included this explanation to the Corinthians about people seeing Jesus alive? Why is the resurrection so critical to the Gospel message?

4. Read verses 9-11. How does Paul describe himself in these verses? What does Paul believe God has done for him? How would you describe Paul’s heart for God and for the Gospel?

5. So what. On a scale of 1-10, how appreciative are you of the Gospel? What could you do to grow in your appreciation and gratitude for the Gospel and God’s grace in your life? What is one thing you can take away from this passage that encourages you to better celebrate God on Resurrection Day?
