For The Next Lesson

1. Read Ephesians 2:1-3, Romans 3:9-20 and Romans 5:12-21. As best you can, try to explain in detail what the Ephesians passage means. Try and be thorough.

2. Based on your answer above, state why people say “in order to understand the good news of the gospel, you must first understand the bad news.”

3. Read Ephesians 2:4-7. What do you think Paul means when he says “made us alive in Christ?” Try to explain from this passage exactly how someone becomes a child of God. Be thorough.

4. Read Ephesians 2:8-9. Once again, try to explain how someone becomes a child of God. Try to think of at least five or six different ways in which people think they are saved, but it is really by some kind of works.

5. Read Ephesians 2:10. What does this verse mean to you personally? How are you living this verse out in your life right now? What changes might you need to make as a result of thinking through this verse?
