Genesis 6:9-22
The secret to standing for God today is walking with God like Noah did.
With God, Noah walked. (9-10)
God decided to destroy the corrupt and violent earth. (11-13)
God instructed Noah to build a huge boat. (14-16)
God promises to save Noah, his family and various animals. (17-21)
Noah obeys all that God commanded. (22)
How can we walk with God like Noah in our generation?
- Trust God.
- Listen to God.
- Obey God.
- Speak-up for God.

- Read verses 9-10. What stands out to you about how Noah is described? What do you think it looked like for Noah to walk with God? What does it look like for us to walk with God today? Take some time to get very real and practical. Could you be described as a person who walks with God? Why or why not?
- Read verses 11-13. What was the situation on the earth, and how was it specifically described? What did God decide to do with the earth? What do we learn about God from these verses? How does God’s decision make you feel about Him?
- Read verses 14-16. What instructions did God give to Noah? Try to put yourself in Noah’s “shoes”. How do you think Noah felt about these instructions? Have you ever felt like God was asking you to do something that was scary, weird or didn’t make sense? What was the situation? How did you respond?
- Read verses 17-22. What do these verses teach us about what God intended to do with Noah, his family and various living creatures? How did God make a “covenant” with Noah? What was God’s part and what was Noah’s part in this covenant? What do we learn about God from verses 17-21? How did Noah respond to God’s instructions? How do you respond to God’s instructions? Do you truly obey all that God commands you? Why or why not?
- So what. How would you summarize what you have learned about God in this passage? Why are these characteristics of God important to keep in mind? How do these characteristics affect your relationship with God?
