For the Next Lesson - Philippians 4:10-23

  1. Read Philippians 4:10 and verses 14-19. Explain as best you can all the things the Philippians had done for Paul. According to verses 18-19, how does the Lord feel about the Philippians’ generosity and support of Paul? What principle can we glean from this? See 2nd Corinthians 9:6-15.

  2. Read Philippians 4:11-13. Paul says he has learned how to be content in all circumstances. Try and list some of the circumstances in which you have trouble being content.

  3. Now review verses 4-9 and verse 13 and state all the ways in which you could be content within your difficult circumstances.

  4. Read Philippians 2:14-15. How can we add these two verses to our study today and allow this to help us become more Christlike, rejoice in the Lord always and be content in all circumstances, even the things you are dealing with right now?

  5. Read Philippians 4:21-23. These verses explain a lot regarding Paul’s contentment while he is in prison in Rome. Can you see why?

  6. What lessons can you learn from this closing statement?
